Rival yachts have a strong reputation for boats that can take on an ocean in comfort but most important of all they can do it safely. Being built to Lloyd’s 100A1 standard sets the standard for both the design and build. The proven security of an encapsulated keel adds peace of mind for a boat of this age. Below decks there is a large 'keyhole bulkhead' that separates the saloon from the galley which adds to the structural integrity and provides further strength.
Teak decks have been refurbished and are in good visual condition, the cockpit is also teak slatted which is in similar good condition. Deck fittings are in good condition and are not showing signs of age or wear. The cockpit has a large deck locker to the port side with the gas locker to starboard underneath the seats.
With an encapsulated deep fin keel and skeg hung rudder this further add to the solid build quality and well proven design. Benefitting from a brand new respray in white this year the boat is in fine condition aesthetically.
Sloop rigged with a recent new headsail and good condition mainsail. New running rigging further adds to the upgrades list on this boat. Condition of the general standing rigging is good and has had a recent rig check from professional riggers.
Mainsail reefing is on single line slab reefing and the headsail is fitted with a furling system. With most lines running aft to the cockpit there are twin main winches on both sides. The main boom is fitted with a rigid vang and single mainsheet on a traveller. Forward are spinnaker halyards also running aft to the cockpit. There is another winch at the mast.
The mast is fitted with a radar reflector and Garmin radar unit. A top the mast is a windex and wind instruments integrated into the ships system below decks.

With a full navigational set up, including chart plotter and radar, the boat is equipped for cruising safely. The boat as expected has depth, speed log, wind instruments and other fittings with cockpit controls. All instruments are repeated at the top of the companionway on deck for ease of navigation when underway.

Below decks immediately to port is the well appointed galley. With ample storage and a cooker, oven and grill the shape and finish make it a spacious but safe to use space when underway. The fridge unit is of top down style with the top hatch making further work space.
To starboard, opposite the galley is the chart table which has the VHF radio, chart plotter and other navigational aids easily to hand. To the aft of the navigation seat is a quarter berth with storage above.
Moving forward to the main saloon area through the keyhole bulkhead are two settees which can double as bunks. The saloon table folds away for easier access past and there is ample storage surrounding the saloon and inside the table. A great feature throughout the boat but best appreciated in the saloon space is the headlining. Finished white painted wood and fitted by professional carpenters this is a continuous feature through the boat, it is both modern and cosy.
Forward of the saloon is the main cabin. Continuing with the same finished wood headlining and the main cabin is both light and feels homely. A helpful partitioning door splits the heads, cabin and saloon and this offers you the option of a larger heads space for showering. To starboard is another locker space with height to be a hanging locker. The main cabin itself has a double v berth with an infill to complete it into a double berth if needed. With a large hatch for light and other port lights the space is light and easily ventilated. Locker space and storage underneath the bunks are ample.
Lighting is present on a 12v system throughout the boat with brass shades on bulkheads. The boat has shore power outlets as well as the 12v charging circuit.
Having been refitted with a reliable Beta Marine Engine 33hp engine with easy service access through the companionway and panels. Raw water cooled and with an inline mechanical gearbox/shaft drive. With new batteries in 2010 on a separate engine and domestic circuit, alternator and shore power charging are fitted ready. All main electrical breakers are on the panel at the chart table.
