‘Boot Düsseldorf Boat Show
Every January the European Yachting community looks north, away from the warmer Mediterranean winters to Düsseldorf, Germany for Europes largest indoor boat show. Boot Düsseldorf enters it’s 51styear in 2019 and promises to be another great event. With nearly 2,000 exhibitors ranging from super yachts to day-sailing boats and everything in between, there is plenty to wet the appetite for all tastes. Parkstone Bay Yachts will be representing the well regarded builders that are Contest Yachts, Wauquiez and Nordship as sole UK agents.
Contest Yachts, renowned for their blue water cruisers and unparalleled build quality will be showing their latest 42CS and 57CS models. The past year has featured a number of positive events for Contest including the launch of their flagship Contest 82 Polina Star IV and some great reviews for the impressive 67CS. The year at Düsseldorf you will be able to see the quality workmanship and finish for yourself aboard two of the most capable yachts under 50 and 60 foot respectively.
Meanwhile one of our other brands, Wauquiez, have also had a fantastic last twelve months. Their newest addition to the range, the Pilot Saloon 42 has turned many heads across the globe at boat shows and in press coverage alike. Being nominated for Yacht of the Year 2019 sums up all the innovative thought gone into this very special yacht. Having benefitted from some great reviews, including two front cover features in Yachting World and Yachting Monthly, this boat is not to be missed –especially for those in the market for a comfortable yet contemporary.
Last but not least, is the Danish builder Nordship. As with all Scandinavian builders there is a certain level of expectance that comes with small yards producing yachts that are truly built to last. However the 380 Deck Saloon being presented this year offers something different to many of it’s ‘rivals’. The raised coach roof and subsequent Deck Saloon space below allows the designers and yard alike the flexibility of, among other things, a forward facing and forward positioned chart table whilst not removing space from the saloon and galley area. The 380DS, along with the rest of the Nordship range, has space and volume that few other yachts under forty feet can match which makes this yacht a must see for anyone considering a few extra weeks, or months on board each year.
As for the rest of the Düsseldorf show the list of exhibitors is almost endless. From kayaks and fishing rods, to a brand new engine for your 45ft motor cruiser if you need something for the water chances are Boot Düsseldorf will have it. This year, in particular interest to those in the Blue Water Sailing community there is a one-day series of seminars held by a number of distinguished and accomplished sailors focused solely on how to get the best out of boat and crew alike when you leave sight, and the support, of land. This is being held on Saturday 26thJanuary, the penultimate day of the show and tickets are available at the event.
